OVERVIEW
A MOMENT TO REGROUND, TEND TO LIFE INSIDE, AND RESET HOW WE SUPPORT OUR WIDER SYSTEMS
This workshop has been refined over time, inspired by our work taking people into nature, as well as by our many encounters with people working towards impact — activists, social entrepreneurs, Bio-Leaders and many others.
The workshop comes from knowing that many of us feel so much in the context of a polycrisis, and that there is an urge and drive to keep pushing for the good. But perhaps before we can do anything well in the world, it is important to give time to take care of our internal systems first.
Refined over the years, this is a space for stopping, giving ourselves time, coming back to the cultivation of internal qualities for care and resilience, and then exploring how we take these qualities into the life around us.
This is work not just in the head, but in the hands, the body and the heart. We bring in ideas and knowledge from wise traditions in practical ways, combined with tools from positive psychology, all woven together with principles of healthy living systems.
And we give time for practical thinking about how to shift patterns in our own lives, so that we can make resilience a real-life habit.
WHAT WE COVER
The Dynamic of Self to Systems
The framing of this workshop starts with an exploration of how we carry the world’s troubles within us, and how to start becoming more resilient by ‘coming home’ to self. We bring in tools and practices related to presence, awareness and relaxation, supporting us to stay in contact with challenge and change within and around us.
An exploration of personal drivers
We take time to explore how the deeper drivers and narratives we hold about making change and saving the world can become deeper contractions in our systems, and the systems around us. And we explore how to find a healthy relationship with those emotions and drivers.
Learning from living systems
We take time to explore how nature builds resilience, adapts to change and sustains life. We combine principles of natural systems with tools and ideas from ancient Earth traditions, helping us connect with the patterns through which life stays healthy and continues to evolve. We then explore how to bring these principles more into our wider systems.
Time for practical application
We also give time to explore how we bring helpful ideas into practice through planning and habit. We offer useful models to help us understand where we can act with purpose and where we can’t. And we create plans to bridge helpful insights back into our work.
Not least, what we hope is felt the most is a rekindling of belonging, appreciation and wonder at the fact that we are part of an extraordinary story — a perspective that can guide good steps in our lives and our work, towards a world that works for life.
